Believe me when I say that dealing with landlords in London can be quite frustrating and a financial burden. Not knowing anything about how landlords deal with tenants in London we became a victim once more and now we have to fight until the battle end to get back some of our deposit / bond.

Take my advice now, when signing a new contract, make them wait until you have read the contract and fully understand it. Do not let the letting agency or the landlord bully you into simply signing the “standard” contract they all claim it to be. I know there are hundreds of innocent London landlords that are not like that but believe me when I say, whenever there is a chance to make quick money, there will be someone riding that wave.

One of the advantages of living in Hollywood Land is that we can experience a movie premier at least once a week. Celebrities flying into London every week and even shooting movies here is quite exciting. All the people you see in your favourite films can be seen in the flesh and for free as well. All you need to do to see a celebrity in London is to queue for a couple of hours to get your front seat spot. It may get a bit hectic when the actors and actresses do appear eventually.

The movie premiers in London are normally held in Leicester Square by the Odeon Cinema. There are four cinemas there, it might be held at any one of them depending on the size of the movie. The Odeon Cinema in Leicester Square is one of the biggest cinemas in Europe.  I have included a link at the bottom to show you when the next movie premier is due in London.

Words of advice though, take a small camping chair or a fold up chair as it will be a long wait. Do not leave the queue as you will leave you spot. You might want to take a backpack with food extra batteries for your digital camera to beat the rush. When the celebrities do start to arrive, you might want to stand closer as people will push and shove you out of the way to get to the front. Been there, done that, I can’t hack it. Enjoy your London movie premier and stay safe.

Christmas is only a few short weeks away and if you are in London, you’re probably planning a Christmas party with a few of your new friends you made in your house share. That is the beauty of living in London; you will always make a friend or two to spend Christmas with even though your hundreds or even thousands of miles away from home. Spending your Christmas in London is not such a bad thing, the atmosphere is great and you can really make it a home and bring the spirit of Christmas to any Christmas party you attend.

A lot of companies in London will start to arrange their Christmas parties; some will even have a secret Santa while others prefer to bring down the house with a good old Christmas party with tonnes of random people being invited. Christmas might be a depressing time to be away from home but at least you will not spend Christmas alone in London.
