London Sirens

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007 | London Living with No Comments »

Straight through the day you will hear sirens going off in London, whether it is from a police car or an ambulance. Sooner or later, you’ll be “immune” to the siren sound but we all should still vigilant when it comes to living in London. Did you know that the policemen and women who drive through traffic like mad people are trained to do that properly and recklessly without injuring any civilians?

I especially like it when I see a fire truck raging past me, not that it is a good thing for the person they are raging towards. The most annoying siren of them all is the ambulance, their noise creeps right into your ears and ring! Arghh. You will miss these London sirens when you’re not living in London anymore!

London Winter

Monday, October 22nd, 2007 | London Living with No Comments »

Believe it or not but I think winter is here officially. Walked out the door this morning and I could feel the cold in my bones and that is not a good sign at all. When you get on the bus and actually enjoy the heat from the person sitting next to you. We had the heating on in the building; I was gob smacked as I did not expect London to get so cold this quickly.

You can survive a London winter easily, the poor Canadians have it bad, and we don’t. Get yourself a pair or thick socks or two, a nice big jacket, a scarf and a fleece or two won’t hurt. Move into a flat that have double glazed windows and make sure the radiators have been bled. Stock up with plenty of tea or hot chocolate and rent a lot of DVD’s or if you love playing games, stock up on a few new releases.

South Norwood Lake

Friday, October 19th, 2007 | General with No Comments »

London is an amazing city and we’re going to prove that with a few more photos when we visit the South Norwood Lake located in South East London. It is strange to imagine that you can find big parks like Richmond Park and Clapham Common within the M25 and you can also find a lake. What other city has that to offer?

We like to explore the outdoors in and around London and South Norwood Lake are next on our list to do. South Norwood Lake has a sailing club, nifty huh! Don’t like sailing then why not try fishing? South Norwood Lake is 11.53 hectares big with basketball courts, tennis courts, playgrounds, bowling green, cricket wickets and woodlands. Now you have no excuse for not escaping to South Norwood Lake.

We will be updating our gallery section after the weekend with new photos.
