London’s Knife Fascination

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008 | General with No Comments »

The last two weeks have been rather odd in London with teenagers stabbing one another when they are out in the public. Seems like there are quite a few gangs in London, each postcode has their own and they tend to target other gang members. It is all actually quite pointless and they’re starting to give London a bad reputation.

Boris Johnson, London’s new mayor has had to deal with six cases in the last two weeks alone of teenagers stabbing one another with knives. It must be quite a headache for him to try and sort out; luckily the police have started doing random searches on the streets with metal detectors used in airports to help cut down these incidents. I do not mind someone scanning me to check if I’m carrying a knife because I have no business carrying a knife around with me. It makes me feel safer that the police are doing something about it but unfortunately they can not stop everyone all the time.

You’ll also notice an increase of British Transport Police on the underground, trains and on the busses. These guys do random checks on people as well to make sure all is going smooth which I have no problems with. So folks, try to stay out of trouble and report anything you think is suspicious to help the police sort out this growing trend in London so that we can all live amongst each other.

Pets in London

Now when I saw this video I immediately thought about pet owners in London. Let’s face the fact that London should have been called Matchbox City as there is no space for anything. That always makes me think about the poor pets that so many owners in keep their small flats / houses.

This is actually a great idea for taking your cat / dog for a walk, not very practical but these two cats beg to differ. Check out the video to see what I mean.

Avoid the RSI

Folks, let’s face it that we’ve been pretty bad in the last week in keeping Stooly.com as updated as it should be. Well, we have been working on a few new articles that should go on the website by Sunday and we’re working on a sister website, so bare with us.

Anyway, now that I got that out in the open, it’s been a hectic couple of weeks in London. I have developed a strange but not uncommon condition called RSI. The minute I mentioned the three letters RSI, the HR department at work freaked out. Apparently RSI can not be proven and neither can stress, so you basically can be off work for long periods of time and still get paid for it but watch out if they send your occupational health, hehe!

What exactly is RSI? It is actually called repetitive strain injury which occurs mostly in computer users or when playing way too many games on the Wii. The pain can be unbearable in your upper arms, lower arms and in your hands, trust me, I know. If you spend more than five hours on the computer during the day, I would strongly recommend you Google a few exercises to do for your arms and hands to avoid getting RSI as sticks around for a few years and could cause complications throughout your life. Google RSI today and find out more for yourself.

P.S - On the topic of new articles, like we said before, if you want to know something specific or just chat about life in London then leave a comment, we’ll pretty much get back to you within a few hours.
