Acceptable Behaviour

I am no eco-warrior or green freak but I have been brought up not to litter even though as kids we did drop the occasional piece of paper on the ground instead of throwing it into a bin, thinking about it now, it still amazes me how the guilt still hovers around me when I think about it.

Walking through the streets I have noticed a lot of people throwing their rubbish on the pavement, not even doing it discreetly but in full view of everyone else. That made me wonder, when has it become acceptable behaviour to litter the way we do? Where did all the morals and values go?

It is actually such a shame that people have to beg one another to save the world, that we can’t think to ourselves that it must be wrong what we’re doing, yet we still continue to do it.
