Facebook Phenomenon

8 September 2007 176 views No Comment

You might have heard a lot about Facebook recently with a few developered sueing the creator for “stealing” their idea and making millions of it. Now Facebook is in the news again for announcing their plans to “open up” facebook to all the search engines. So now not only can your employer or your arch enemy look you up but every bozo with Google or Yahoo can do too. How much of a security issue is this really or are we overreacting. Facebook have sent out messages to all their users about the new development and have warned them to change their privacy settings. If you have Facebook, then I recommend you change it today before everyone take a look at your life.

Facebook has taken the world by storm by connecting millions of people across the world, no matter where you are. You can look up old friends or even find reletives you have not spoken to in ages. So do you regard Facebook as the devil or a magic tool to increase your social points? Remember, if you want to stay safe, change some of your details such as your birthdate, only use the day and month, not the year. A distored image of yourself is another method to stay safe.
