You will have to admit we all love a sale, bargain or freebies. London has a lot of freebies, you just have to be aware of them. Do not be ashamed of taking freebies, tonnes of people will offer them to you. As long as there is no catch and you do not have to flip open your wallet / purse then I would say take it.
At all major or shall I rather say, Central London tube and train stations, you will encounter a lot of people from time to time that will hand out promotional items such as mini / travel size deodrant, Muller Yogurt, KitKat, Innocent Smoothies and even Nivea sun lotiion. It is not like they hand out expired or damaged products, they are merely advertising their products and the best way to do that is through freebies!
If you are looking for a day out in London without paying a penny, then check out these five links below. They constantly advertise free events around London for anyone to attend. This is a great way to even save money and see the great capital.
Free Tickets to the Cinema
A while back a friend of mine at work who loves to save money told me about a free online service which gives away tickets to previews of upcoming movies. The only catch is that you have to be quick to enter your code and get your tickets or they will be gone. They normally send you an email with the codes and about the movie and there in London you will be able to go and watch it. She has been to a few of them already and loves it. There is absolutely no catch, you register with them, they email you and you enter the code on the website, tell them how many tickets you want and where you would like to watch it, if it is available, they’ll give it to you then and there. You just have to print out the e-ticket and present at cinema.

02 currently has this nice feature on their website that allows you to send 10 text messages a day to anyone in the United Kingdom. A pitty that it does not send worldwide but at least you can keep in contact with friends in the United Kingdom when you are running low on funds.
London always have a tonne of free stuff to give away. A popular forum called Gumtree has a section dedicated to people giving away free stuff and they actually give things away, mostly unwanted furniture. I have found a lot of interesting free stuff on Gumtree such as 17″ computer monitors and USB broadband modem. You can even get rid of a few items by placing an add on Gumtree.
If you are on a budget as most of us are then you would appreciate the following link. How do you fancy being in the audience while they are recording a television show? They normally have drinks and snacks for the audience attending that day. They do not pay you for being there. There is one rule though, if you have booked tickets then you have to attend otherwise they won’t let you do it again for a good while, so don’t chicken out. It is completely worth the experience.
