Let it Snow, Let it Snow

It has been one hectic day in London in terms of the travel chaos. I had forgotten what it can be like when London finally receives snow. The thought of snow is quite exciting but it causes a lot of misery to thousands of commuters in London.

A little bit of snow on a railway track and we have delays until kingdom come for some bizarre reason. Why the heck the people in charge do not fly out to Russia or Poland and find out how they manage each year without the chaos is beyond me. I was lucky enough to be able to leave work two hours early today to try to make it home. Finally managed to get on a train and reached the end station to find that traffic has come to a halt and there are no busses running due to them slipping and sliding all over the place. I remained hopeful for about twenty minutes before I realised that no busses were coming and I had to make the last bit of my commute on foot. It was bloody cold, frozen feet, one pair of trousers did not help at all.

So, a lesson in all of this, plan in advance, wrap up warm and get a pair of wellies to stay dry as it is bound to happen again. Oh, get a twitter account and follow a few Londoners to stay in tune with what’s happening. Saw a few jaw-dropping photos of commuters stuck in London.

Ha! Nice pic. My cow print wellies have absolutely saved me this season. I haven’t slipped on ice and landed on my butt once!
