Live Concerts: Wembley Arena Vs O2 Arena
By some miracle I was asked if I was interested in free concert tickets to go and see Counting Crows. We decided that considering the tickets are worth £70, we can not snub the opportunity to go to a live concert in London. This specific concert was at Wembley Arena which is North West London. Considering we live in South East London, it was going to be one heck of a mission getting there and coming home.

The tickets specifically said that the doors open at 18:00 and the show will start at 19:00. We arrived just after 18:00 and decided to make our way inside. There were a few merchant stands in the main foyer which seems to charge a fortune for t-shirts and CD’s. The type of things you can get on the internet for less than £10. We were starving and decided to go to the first food stand we found, it happened to be hotdogs and boy were they dry and unappealing. I expected a bit more for the price we paid for each. So here is my advice, they have no rules as to taking in food but security did advise me to throw the top away of the sport drinks bottle. Everything food wise inside is expensive, so take your own or eat before the time that is unless you have a few quid to blow.

The setup at Wembley Arena is not as great as the O2 Arena in Greenwich, trust me. Once you have been to the O2 Arena, you do not want to sit in the Wembley Arena, unless you are groupie of the band playing there. Major bands always have a guest band which will play first for about an hour before the main band comes on stage. This pushes the time further and your concert will probably end at around 10:30 and then you have to make your way home. Do I sound a bit grouchy here? Sorry, if I do but that is how things are.
So, if I have choice, I would definitely be rooting for the O2 Arena for any live performance, oh, they are not paying me to say this… wish they were, haha! The first photo is of the O2 Arena in Greenwich and the second photo is of the Wembley Arena.

end at half 10? thats hardly late, thats the sort of time a gig would be expected to end if not early! im going to see bullet for my valentine at wembley arena in december and i live near oxford, so if the gig ends at half 10 i’d be very happy! i’ve never been to a major gig which ends earlier than that.
Going to see BFMV too! (tonight actually) never been to wembley arena. so i hope its not as bad as you’re making it out to be.
Hello Alison, we truly hope that you experience is out of this world but we still prefer O2 Arena over Wembly Arena any day
