Earlier this week the Mayor of London (Boris Johnson) lifted the police recruitment freeze and pledged to have more police officers on the beat than when he started her mayoral term. The claim is that he “found” an extra £42 million pounds which he is redirecting to Scotland Yard to recruit more police officers. This is truly a morbid topic to be talking about but a stint to Homebase this weekend reminded me how important it is to get the word out there.
