I wish someone had told me about loyalty cards the minute I got of the airplane but fate had it that I had to learn about them the hard way. All I can think about is how much points I could have had by now but oh well, it is all in the past now.

Loyalty Cards is not known by majority of the world but they are sure a lifesaver here in London. The most popular loyalty cards are Tesco’s ClubCard, Nectar and Boots Advantage Card. Do yourself a favour and apply for them as soon as you possibly can, that is if you want to get discounts or have free meals, free cinema passes and much more.

What is a Loyalty Card?

-          It is basically a free membership to that retailer or group of retailers that wish to reward you for shopping with them.

What is in it for the retailer?

-          They basically get a new client to shop with them more often, hence the word loyalty.

What does it cost to get a Loyalty Card?

-          The three main loyalty cards are free of charge as long as you live in the United Kingdom.

What are the benefits of a Loyalty Card?

-          Once you hit a certain amount of points, you then get the option to claim back in any of the forms they have available. For instance, you can either buy groceries, a cinema ticket, music, DVDs, beauty day, days out and free meals at restaurants. This is only a few of the options available.

-          I figured that if I should lose my job or have a terrible financial month, I would still have enough points to at least feed myself until I am back on my feet. It is a mini safety net for the “what if” days. Think about it this way, they are basically giving you free stuff for just buying stuff you would have bought anyway, so why not take it?

Below is a photo of the main Loyalty Cards as well as some vouchers I have earned through Tesco ClubCard. By the way, I did not go out and spend like a mad person to collect it, just did my normal shopping! I have already had the pleasure of w

atching two movies at the cinema with some of my points and there is still plenty left on the one card to buy a month worth of groceries and toiletries.
